Media Monday: Images in Posts and Status Updates

Greetings! Sarah and I had a very pleasant weekend, and we trust you did as well. That being said, it’s time to begin charging full speed ahead into the work week with blogging. Falling behind? I’m sure of where to start this week? Never fear, catchy images are here. No, really, we mean it. A catchy images one of the number one ways to get your post noticed, particularly when sharing in social media streams in hopes that an audience will notice it. Take for example this photo used on this web page at Fast Company in an article about newsletters.

A dog is holding a newspaper in its mouth. Who doesn’t love an image of everyone’s best friend bringing in the news fresh from the paperboy? This friendly image (or one like it… you get the idea) immediately causes the reader to want to dig deeper – and could quite possibly be the image that causes a possible reader or customer to click through a post or Tweet – one step closer to converting that casual browser into a customer or referral to future business.
